A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF RIVERSIDE,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AN
APPROXIMATELY 8,745 SQUARE FOOT PORTION OF VERBENA
DRIVE FROM THE INTERSECTION WITH CANTERBURY DRIVE TO
THE TERMINUS OF VERBENA DRIVE, ADJACENT TO THE
PROPERTIES AT 4465 CANTERBURY ROAD AND 4445
CANTERBURY ROAD, AND SETTING THE DATE, HOUR AND PLACE
OF HEARING, PURSUANT TO THE PUBLIC STREETS, HIGHWAYS,
AND SERVICE EASEMENTS VACATION LAW,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, as follows:
Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Riverside hereby declares that in Planning
Case No. P13 -0900, it is the intention of the City Council to vacate an approximately 8,745 square
foot portion of Verbena Drive from the intersection with Canterbury Drive to the terminus of
Verbena Drive, adjacent to the properties at 4465 Canterbury Road and 4445 Canterbury Road,
within the City of Riverside, California, as more particularly described and depicted in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated by this reference, for the reason that these portions of said street
and is unnecessary for present and prospective public use.
Section 2 : That the Planning Commission, at is meeting of December 4, 2014, has
recommend the to the City Council that Verbena Drive identified in Exhibit "A" should be vacated.
Section 3 : The date, hour, and place for hearing all persons interested in the proposed
vacation of the public street in Planning Case No. P13 -0900 is set as January 27, 2015, at 3 :00 p.m.
in the Council Chambers of the Riverside City Council located adjacent to City Hall, at 3900 Main
Street, Riverside, California.
Section 4 : At the hearing provided for in Section 4 hereof, the City Council shall determine
whether this public street is unnecessary for present of prospective use, and if so, the reservations or
exceptions from the vacations that public convenience and necessity require, if any, which shall be
recited in the resolution of vacation as provided in Section 8341 of the Streets and Highways Code.
Section 5 : Notices of the date, hour and place of the hearing of the proposed vacation shall
be posted conspicuously along the public street and public alley proposed to be vacated at least two
(2) weeks before the day set for the hearing. At least three (3) notices shall be posted not more than
three (300) hundred feet apart. The notices shall state the day, hour, and place of hearing; shall refer

1 to the adoption of this resolution of intention; and shall describe the public street and public alley

4 Section 5 : The City Clerk shall cause notice of the date, hour, and place of the hearing on
5 this resolution of intention to be published for at Ieast two (2) successive weeks p or o the hearing
