THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY UNDERGROUND SERVICE &M (d 277-2600, AND ALL CONCERNED UTILITY
COMPANIES AT LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE OF EXCAVATION.
ALL TRAFFIC STRIPES, PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND SIGNS SHALL BE REFLECTORIZED AND IN STANDARD SIZES. ALL
STRIPING AND MARKING DETAILS SHALL MATCH CALTRANS STANDARD PLANS DETAILS. STENCILS FOR PAVEMENT
MARKING SHALL MATCH CALTRANS STANDARD PLANS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL CONFLICTING STRIPES, PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. WORD OR SYMBOL PAVEMENT MARKINGS
SHALL BE REMOVED BY SANDBLASTING OR GRINDING A RECTANGULAR AREA COVERING THE WHOLE MARKING.
ALL CROSSWALKS SHALL HAVE 10 FEET IN BETWEEN THE 12 -INCH WHITE OR YELLOW STRIPES.
ALL DOUBLE YELLOW STRIPES SHALL HAVE 3 -INCH PAINTED BLACK LINE SEPARATING THE YELLOW STRIPES.
THE COUNTY SHALL INSTALL PAINTED TRAFFIC STRIPES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS WITH ALL INCURRED COSTS
BORNE BY THE DEVELOPER/APPLICANT. THE COUNTY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE THE CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL
PAINTED TRAFFIC STRIPES. PAINTED TRAFFIC STRIPES AND PAINTED PAVEMENT MARKINGS (IF ALLOWED) SHALL BE
APPLIED IN TWO COATS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL APPLY PAVEMENT MARKINGS INCLUDING CROSSWALKS, LIMIT LINES, AND STOP BARS USING
THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL. ALL OTHER TRAFFIC STRIPES SHALL BE PAINTED IN TWO COATS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS (RPMs) WITHIN SEVEN WORKING DAYS
OF ROADWAY STRIPING. ALL EXISTING RPMs WITHIN THE PROJECT AREA SHALL BE REPLACED IN KIND OR REMOVED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PIANS, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL STANDARD SIZE SIGN PANEL ON 4"x4" WOOD POST AND 48" SIGN PANEL ON Cx6'
WOOD POST WITH ANCHOR BLOCKS, FASTENED WITH HEX BOLTS AND NUTS PER CALTRANS STANDARD PLAN RS2,
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL SIGNS SHALL BE DETERMINED IN THE FIELD BY THE
ENGINEER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE SIGNS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DELIVER REMOVED SIGNS TO THE COUNTY YARD OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LAYOUT (CAT -TRACK) THE PROPOSED SIGNING, STRIPING AND MARKINGS IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PLANS WITHIN THREE WORKING DAYS OF FINAL PAVING. CONTACT COUNTY TRAFFIC OPERATIONS AT (951)
955-6896 TO OBTAIN APPROVAL OF LAYOUT PRIOR TO ACTUAL INSTALLATION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL SIGNING AND STRIPING WORKS THROUGH ENGINEER PRIOR TO OPENING NEW
ROADWAYS AND/OR EXISTING ROADWAYS TO NEW SIGNING AND STRIPING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS.
PRIVATE ENGINEER'S NOTICE TO CONTRACTOR:
THE EXISTENCE AND LOCATION OF ANY UNDERGROUND UTILITY PIPES OR STRUCTURES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS
WERE OBTAINED BY SEARCH OF THE AVAILABLE RECORDS. THESE LOCATIONS ARE APPROXIMATE AND SHALL BE

NOT SHOWN ON THESE PLANS.
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT IN ACCORDANCE WITH GENERALLY ACCEPTED CONSTRUCTION
PRACTICES, CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR
JOB SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS
AND PROPERTY. THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL BE MADE TO APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE LIMITED TO
NORMAL WORKING HOURS, AND CONSTRUC71ON CONTRACTOR FURTHER AGREES TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD
DESIGN PROFESSIONAL HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, REAL OR ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE
PERFORMANCE OF WORK ON THIS PROJECT, EXCEPTING LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOLE NEGLIGENCE OF THE DESIGN
PROFESSIONAL.
