SUBJECT: Summarily vacating a portion of Water Street, a portion of Harvill Avenue, and the
right to accept a portion of a Declaration of Dedication for an unnamed road in the Mead Valley

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2012 -094, summarily vacating a portion of
Water Street, a portion of Harvill Avenue, and the right to accept a portion of a Declaration of
Dedication for an unnamed road in the Mead Valley area.
BACKGROUND: In conjunction with the purchase of the property for the new Transportation
Department Maintenance Yard, as approved by the Board of Supervisors on August 16, 2011
as Resolution 2011 -189, Agenda Item 3.43, the Transportation Department is requesting the
vacation of excess rights -of -way along Water Street, Harvill Avenue and an unnamed road
dedication for the development of the site. This vacation will not eliminate access to any parcels.

WHEREAS, the hereinafter - described portion of Water Street was conveyed to
the County of Riverside per Instrument No. 117627, recorded April 2, 1992, Official
Records of the Recorder, Riverside County, California;
WHEREAS, the hereinafter - described portion of Harvill Avenue and an
unnamed road were dedicated by Declaration of Dedication per Instrument No. 29721,
recorded March 3, 1972, Official Records of the Recorder, Riverside County,
California;
WHEREAS, the hereinafter - described portions of Water Street, Harvill Avenue
and an unnamed road dedication are not necessary and are excess right of way, and
not required for public street or highway purposes, now, therefore;

3 WHEREAS, applicable procedures pertaining to summary vacations were
4 followed pursuant to the County's adopted Resolutions for fixing procedures to vacate
5 and accept county highways and property offered for dedication;

7 BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the Board of
8 Supervisors of the County of Riverside, State of California, in regular session
9 assembled on July 17 2012, as follows:

I1 1. Pursuant to Section 8334(a) of the Streets and Highways Code that
12 the hereinafter - described portions of Water Street, Harvill Avenue and an
13 unnamed road dedication are excess right -of -way, are no longer required for
14 public street and highway purposes, and is hereby summarily vacated.

16 WATER STREET HARVILL AVENUE AND AN UNNAMED STREET
17 That portion of Water Street, (19.00 Feet) conveyed to the County of Riverside
18 by Instrument No. 117627, recorded April 2, 1992, Official Records of the Recorder,
19 Riverside County, California, and those portions of Harvill Avenue and an unnamed
20 road (30.00 Feet) offered by Declaration of Dedication, recorded as Instrument No.
21 29721, recorded March 3, 1972, Official Records of the Recorder, Riverside County,
22 California, lying within Lots 2 and 7 of Oakes and Sawyers Subdivision, filed in Book 1,
23 Page 5 of Maps, in the Office of the Recorder, Riverside County, California.
