SUBJECT: Accepting portions of Bailly Street, Carroll Street, Hawthorne Avenue, Kuder
Avenue, Shortridge Avenue and Woodward Street for public road and utility
purposes, in the Mead Valley area, First Supervisorial District.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2010 -058, accepting portions of Bailly
Street, Carroll Street, Hawthorne Avenue, Kuder Avenue, Shortridge Avenue and Woodward
Street for public road and utility purposes, but not into the County Maintained Road System.
BACKGROUND: The Riverside County Transportation Department is requesting this
acceptance for public use prior to improving the road. The Transportation Department in
conjunction with the Economic Development Agency is paving the existing dirt portion of Bailly
Street, Carroll Street, Hawthorne Avenue, Kuder Avenue, Shortridge Avenue and Woodward
Street. The newly paved surface will provide dust control and help improve access to area
residents.

ACCEPTING PORTIONS OF BAILLY STREET, CARROLL STREET, HAWTHORNE
AVENUE, KUDER AVENUE, SHORTRIDGE AVENUE AND WOODWARD STREET, IN
THE MEAD VALLEY AREA, FOR PUBLIC USE.
(First Supervisorial District)
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described portions of Bailly Street, Carroll Street,
Hawthorne Avenue, Kuder Avenue, Shortridge Avenue and Woodward Street were offered
for dedication for public road and public utility purposes by the map and document
hereinafter - referred to, which offers of dedication have not been previously accepted for
public use by the County of Riverside, now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Riverside, State of California, in regular session assembled on anr; 1 s ,
2010, that this Board accepts the offers of dedication and recognizes that said roads are
public roads open for use by the general public;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED, AND ORDERED that this acceptance
is for the purpose of vesting title in the County of Riverside on behalf of the public for public
road and utility purposes, and is not an acceptance of the roads into the County Maintained
Road System pursuant to Section 941 of the Streets and Highways Code and that said roads

will not become part of the County Maintained Road System unless subsequently accepted
into said Maintained Road System by a resolution adopted by this Board;
Said roads are in the County of Riverside, State of California, and are described as follows:
Bailly Street (See Exhibit "A ")
Bailiy Street (60.00 feet wide), dedicated for public use as Lot "E" of Walden Poultry
Acres Tract No 1, recorded in Book 17, Page 74 of Maps, records of Riverside County,.
California.
Carroll Street (See Exhibit "A ")
Carroll Street (60.00 feet wide), between the north right of way line Kuder Avenue and
the south right of way line Nandina Avenue, dedicated for public use as Lot "J" of Upton
Acres, recorded in Book 14, Page 23 of Maps, records of Riverside County, California.
Hawthorne Avenue (See Exhibit "A ")
Hawthorne Avenue (60.00 feet wide), that portion 2,000 feet easterly of Clark Street,
dedicated for public use as Lot "B" and a portion of Lot "C ", between Lots 1 through 3,
inclusive, of block "F" of Upton Acres, recorded in Book 14, Page 23 of Maps, excepting that
