BACKGROUND: The property owners abutting these portions of Patton Avenue and Rice Road have requested this vacation. These portions of Patton Avenue and Rice Road are no longer required due to the new alignment of Newport Road now known as Domenigoni Parkway. Domenigoni Parkway was built to an urban arterial highway standard, which limits access at quarter mile intervals. These existing roads do not meet the existing standards. The portions of Patton Avenue and Rice Road to be vacated are owned in fee title by the County of Riverside. The County will be quitclaiming the fee portions to the adjacent property owners. The County was deeded a new alignment of Domenigoni Parkway, which is of greater width and value than the existing easements. The Transportation Department notified the adjacent property owners and has not received any letters in opposition to this vacation_ This vacation will not eliminate access to any parcel.
