SUBJECT Summarily vacating the right to accept the dedication of Iowa Connec for
Road, in the Highgrove AreaFifth Supervisorial District.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the Board adopt Resolution 2002 -30, Summarily Vacating the herein
described portion of Iowa ConnectorRoad.
BACKGROUND:
The owners of the adjacent lot to said Iowa Connect.oi: Road plan to
purchase the property after the vacation to more efficiently and effectively
accommodate development of the property. The herein described portion of
Iowa Connect or Road is excess to County needs and vacating it will not
eliminate access to any parcels. There has been no opposition to this
vacation.

SUMMARILY VACATING A PORTION OF IOWA CONNECTo R ROAD
IN THE HIGHGROVE AREA

(FIFTH SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT)
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described portion of the Iowa ConnectorRoad as
relinquished to the County of Riverside by Relinquishment Document recorded on January
22, 1963, in Book 3306, Page 298, records of the Recorders Office, Riverside County,
California: and,
WHEREAS, that portion of Iowa Connectoitoad is not part of the General Plan and
not required for public street or highway purposes, and that this vacation will not eliminate
access to any parcels; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Riverside, State of California, in regular session assembled
on April 16 , 2002, as follows:
1. That the hereinafter described portion of Iowa Connector Road, is excess right -of-
way not required for public street and highway purposes, and pursuant to section 8334(a) of
the Streets and Highways Code, the offers of dedication to the public are hereby summarily
vacated:

6 EXCEPTING AND RESERVING from the vacation an easement for any existing public
7 utilities and public service facilities, together with the right to maintain, operate, replace,
8 remove, or renew such facilities, pursuant to section 8340 of the Streets and Highways Code.

10 2. That the herein above - described portion of Iowa Connector Road is unnecessary fog
11 present or prospective public use, including use as a non - motorized transportation facility.

13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Cleric of this
14 Board shall cause a Certified copy of this resolution to be recorded in the Office of the

Township 2 South. Range 4 West, as shown by map on file in Book 7, Page 33 of Maps,
Records of San Bernardino County, State of California, described as follows:
Commencing at the centerline intersection of Iowa Avenue and Center Street, as shown
on Cal -Trans Right- of-Way Map No. 910592on file with the Riverside County Surveyor
as Right -of -Way Map 709 -T;
Thence S 00'40' 34" W 165.00 feet along said centerline of Iowa Avenue, to the
Easterly prolongation of the south line of that parcel described on Inst. No. 2001 - 230922
recorded 5- 24 -01, official Records of Riverside County, CA;
T hence iv 89'20* 50" 'vV 252.33 feet along said prolongation and said south line and
parallel to said centerline of Center Street to the East right -of -way of (vacated) Park
Place;
Thence N 00 °47' IT' E 5.32 feet along said right -of -way to the True Point of
