SUBJECT: Summarily vacating the right to accept a portion of Walnut Ave, in the Perris
area, Third Supervisorial District.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: That the Board adopt Resolution N0. 2002 - 184, summarily
vacating the right to accept a portion of Walnut Avenue.
BACKGROUND: That portion of Walnut Avenue is no longer required due to
realignment. The new alignment of Walnut Avenue will match the Preissman Specific
Plan and will provide access to the future elementary and middle schools.
This vacation will not eliminate access to any parcels. There has been no opposition to
this vacation.

vote, IT WAS ORDERED that the above matter is approved as recommended.

10 WHEREAS, the hereinafter described portion of Walnut Avenue, is shown on map of
11 Inspiration Farms No. 1 on fife in Book 16, Page 70, of Maps, records of the County Recorder,
12 Riverside County, California, and,

14 WHEREAS, the hereinafter- described portion of Walnut Avenue has not been
15 accepted by the County of Riverside and is not part of the circulation element of the General
16 Plan, and that this vacation will not eliminate access to any parcels, and is excess right -of-
17 way, and not required for public street or highway purposes, now, therefore;

19 BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of
20 the County of Riverside, State of California, in regular session assembled on
21 September 10 , 2002, as follows:

23 1. Pursuant to Section 8334(a) of the Streets and Highways Code the hereinafter
24 described portion of Walnut Ave is an excess interest not required for public street and
25 highway purposes and is hereby summarily vacated:

AS EXHIBIT °A" AND "B" AND MADE A PART HEREOF
EXCEPTING AND RESERVING from the vacation any easement for existing public
utilities and public service facilities, together with the right to maintain, operate, replace,
remove or renew such facilities, pursuant to Section 8340 of the Streets and Highways
Code.
2. That the herein - described portion of Walnut Avenue is unnecessary for present or
prospective public use, including use as a non - motorized transportation facility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Clerk of this
Board shall cause a certified copy of this resolution to be recorded in the Office of the County
Recorder of the County of Riverside, California.

of Maps at page 70, records of Riverside County, California, lying within Section 15, Township 4 South,
Range 3 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the Northerly right -of -way line (60.00 feet wide) of said Lot "H"
(Walnut Avenue) with the East line of the West one -half of the Northeast one - quarter of said Section
15;
THENCE South 00 °2848" West along said East line of the West one half of the Northeast one - quarter
