SUBJECT: Summarily vacating the right to accept the dedication of a 20 foot alley, in the
Thermal area, Fourth Supervisorial District
RECOMMENDED .MOTION:
That the Board adopt Resolution No. 2000 -171, summarily vacating the right to
accept the dedication of a 20 foot alley.
JUSTIFICATION:
The vacation of this 20 foot alley will eliminate illegal trash dumping and will provide
security for the four adjoining property owners. This vacation will not eliminate
access to any parcels.

SUMMARILY VACATING THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT
THE DEDICATION OF A 20 FOOT ALLEY
IN THE THERMAL AREA

(FOURTH SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT)
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described 20 foot alley was dedicated to the County, as lot
"C ", per Tract Map 2346, recorded in Book 21 and 22 inclusive, records of the County
Recorder, Riverside County, California, and,
WHEREAS, the offer of dedication for said 20 foot alley has not been accepted by the
County of Riverside; and,
WHEREAS, the hereinafter- described 20 foot alley is not necessary and is excess
interest, and not required for public street and highway purposes; now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of

the County of Riverside, State of California, in regular session assembled on
June 27 , 2000, as follows:
1. Pursuant to Section 8334(a) of the Streets and Highways Code that the hereinafter
described 20 foot alley is an excess interest not required for highway purposes and is hereby
summarily vacated:

EXCEPTING AND RESERVING from the vacation an easement

for any existing public utilities and public service facilities, together

with the right to maintain, operate, replace, remove or renew such

facilities, pursuant to Section 8340 of the Streets and Highway Code.

2. That the herein - described portion of 20 foot alley is unnecessary for present or
9
prospective public use, including use as a non- motorized transportation facility.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Clerk of this

Board shall cause a certified copy of this resolution to be recorded in the Office of the County
13
Recorder of the County of Riverside, California.
