JUSTIFICATION:
That portion of Calhoun Street has been used as a private easement and
has never been used as a public road.
This vacation is in conjunction with pending Lot Line Adjustment No. 4054.

SUMMARILY VACATING THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT A PORTION OF
CALHOUN STREET, IN THE LA QUINTA AREA
(AB- 16 -98)
(FOURTH SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT)
WHEREAS, the hereinafter - described portion of Calhoun Street was established by
Book 359 of Deeds, Page 85, recorded September 19, 1912, Records of the County Recorder,
Riverside County, California; and,
WHEREAS, The offer of dedication for the herein - described portion of Calhoun Street
has not been accepted by the County of Riverside; and,
WHEREAS, that portion of Calhoun Street is not part of the circulation element of the
General Plan, and that this vacation will not eliminate access to any parcels, and is excess
right of way, and not required for public street or highway purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Riverside, State of California, in regular session assembled
on June 22 , 1999, as follows:
1. That the right to accept the hereinafter - described portion of Calhoun Street is
excess right of way not required for public street and highway purposes, and pursuant to
Section 8334(a) of the Streets and Highways Code, is hereby summarily vacated:

EXCEPTING AND RESERVING from the vacation any easement for existing public
utilities and public service facilities, together with the right to maintain, operate, replace,
remove, or renew such facilities, pursuant to Section 8340 of the Streets and Highways Code.
2. That the hereinabove - described portion of Calhoun Street is unnecessary for
present or prospective public use, including use as a non - motorized transportation facility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Clerk
of this Board shall cause a certified copy of this resolution to be recorded in the Office of the
Recorder of Riverside County, California.

Commencing at a point on the south line of Section 24, Township 6 South, Range 7
East, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, said point being west 16.50 feet
perpendicular distance from the east line of the west one half of said Section 24;
Thence, N 00 °00'35" W parallel with the east line of the west one half of Section 24 a
distance of 30.00 feet to the true point of beginning;
Thence continuing N 00 0 00'35" W parallel with the east line of the west one half of
Section 24 a distance of 1950.00 feet to the north line of the south one half of the
northeast one quarter of the southwest one quarter of said Section 24;
Thence easterly along said north line a distance of 16.50 feet to the east line of the
west one half of Section 24;
Thence, S 00 °00'35" E along said east line 1950.00 feet to a point 30.00 feet north of
