This plat represents a retracement and
reestablishment of a portion of the First
Standard Parallel South, a portion of the
subdivisional lines, and the meander lines
designed to restore the corners in their
true original location to the best available
evidence. The areas and designations are as
shown on the plat approved May 22, 1879.
A portion of the First Standard Parallel
South was surveyed by 0. P. Calloway in 1874.
A portion of the First Standard Parallel
South, a portion of the subdivisional lines
and all of the meander lines were surveyed by
W. F. Benson in 1879.
The portion of the First Standard Parallel
South, west of the standard corner of sections
1 and 2, T. 5 S.,, R. 23 E. was resurveyed and
surveyed by W. J. Lightfoot in 1916.
Dependent resurvey of a portion of the
First Standard Parallel South, a portion of
the subdivisional lines, and the meander lines
of T. 4 S., R. 23 E., S. B. M., California,
executed by Leland P. Lewis, February 20, 1958
to March 27, 1958, under Special Instructions
dated February 17, 1958, which provide for the
surveys included under Group 445, California.
